Loan Administrator

The Loan Administrator provides efficient and effective Loan Servicing and Administrative support to the Commercial Lending Team. Working primarily onsite in our Nashua, NH banking center, the Loan Administrator performs wide and varied activities daily within the team and with new and prospective clients in an effort to ensure the team operates efficiently while maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations. Performs all tasks in compliance with established Bank policies and procedures, with all applicable Federal and State laws, and in particular, with all rules and regulations related to the privacy of non public personal information, the Bank Secrecy Act, and Fair Lending.
Essential Responsibilities
Broadly, assists in accurate maintenance of portfolio documentation, including vendor files, proof of insurance, lien perfections, and financial statements. Maintenance includes monitoring expirations, requesting updates, and ensuring the tracking system is current.
Working directly with clients, assists in the billing and statement delivery including ensuring addresses are current. Processes loan payments and advances including drafting tickets or making accounting entries as needed. Resolves other customer service issues as they arise.
Involved in loan payoffs including providing payoff quotes and informing appropriate team members, processing payments, updating loan files, and closing accounts.
Maintains accurate core database by performing applicable file maintenance.
After approval, manages the loan closing process by working directly with Lenders, settlement agents, and borrowers. Loan Administrators draft loan documentation per approved loan terms primarily through the Bank's loan origination and documentation system, ensure all required documentation, including lien perfections, are fully executed and returned to the Bank, and manage the funding process.
Assists in the appraisal and advanced environmental due diligence processes including bidding and engaging orders, and facilitating payments.
Involved in all aspects of the flood process including ordering flood determinations, calculating minimum coverage, and ensuring complete compliance with all related regulations, including maintaining accurate documentation.
Assist the Lenders and Portfolio Manager's formal client interactions by drafting commitment letters, financial statement requests, also assists with the Construction Monitoring process, including collating required documentation, obtaining title updates, scheduling site inspections, and processing advances.
Provides backup for Senior Loan Administrator as needed.
May assist with loan delinquencies and various portions of property tax escrow.
Complies with all banking regulations, federal and state laws, and Bank's code of ethics. Maintains updated knowledge regarding loan products, Bank policies and procedures, all federal and state lending and commercial credit regulations. Ensures work output and loan files are compliant and is involved in QC, auditing, and monitoring processes thereto.
Performs any and all other duties assigned which the Loan Administrator is qualified and physically able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.
Criteria for Commercial Lending Assistant
Two years Banking, Legal, or similar professional office experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and typing
Detail oriented with effective organizational skills
Ability to prioritize work flow and meet deadlines
Effective communication and interaction skills
Eager to learn and grow
