Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy operations within a retail pharmacy setting. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, aseptic technique, and patient service to ensure the highest level of patient care. The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain accurate records of medication inventory and patient profiles.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and safety.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on pharmacy equipment and assist in maintaining a clean work environment.
- Stay updated on new medications, medical terminology, and pharmacy practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred, especially in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is required.
- Must be able to pass any required background checks or screenings as mandated by the facility.
