Media Manager, Reputation Marketing

Arlington, Virginia, United States Amazon Full time $124,500 - $206,000 per year

Description
The individual selected for this position will support the US media strategy, planning, and execution of paid media campaigns by Reputational Marketing & Insights (RMI).

The work will challenge you to be resourceful, think big while staying connected to the details, translate data-driven insights into strategic recommendations, and embrace a high degree of change and ambiguity at speed. The scope and scale of what we strive to achieve is immense, but it is also meaningful and energizing.

Key job responsibilities

RMI's US Media Manager will lead our reputational media strategy, planning and execution in the US to increase brand sentiment of Amazon among key audiences. Instead of planning and executing media against traditional direct-response conversion metrics like sales, clicks, or signups - RMI success is driven by offline outcomes that are far more difficult to capture and measure. Though randomized-controlled trials that rely on surveys, our team measures when our work is successful through attitudinal change measurement. We're looking for the right person to balance the imperative to persuade a target audience, while doing so in a way that can be causally measured and attributed.

Your focus will be on media planning, buying, optimization and performance analysis across multiple mediums, primarily but not limited to: premium digital video and connected TV, social platforms, programmatic video and display, and high-value direct partnerships. You will bring a data-driven mindset to help determine the optimal channel mix for reach our specific audience and move the needle. You will work with media agencies and other partners to ensure we're on-air, on-time, and on-budget. And you will partner closely with other product experts throughout the company to build the next generation of industry-leading media buying tools.

A day in the life

As RMI's US Media Manager, you'll execute media campaigns by:

  • Acting as a primary contact for Amazon's media agencies in the US
  • Working with senior-level stakeholders and agencies to produce impactful and cost-effective media plans
  • Developing, iterating, and implementing complex real-world experiments through media campaigns
  • Managing budgets and timelines for media programs
  • Monitoring and analyzing key media buy metrics (reach, frequency, viewability, VCR, etc.), quality, and performance
  • Establishing optimization efforts to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the media plans, and working cross-functionally to ensure effective integration of media strategy with campaign messaging and creative
  • Jointly developing and executing a product roadmap for brand and reputational buying tools in the Amazon demand-side platform.

About The Team
Our team strives to identify the persuasive return on investment for every dollar we spend. We build marketing plans that persuade our core audiences through best-in-class media tactics and measurement methodology that enables us to optimize towards the principles and platforms that achieve real-world outcomes at the expense of those that don't.

Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we're building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded marketer and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • 10+ years of relevant work in industry or academia experience
  • Experience driving results through digital marketing and multi-channel campaigns

  • Knowledge of digital creative production, ad serving, cross-channel attribution, and media analytics
