Location: Pierce County – Tacoma, Washington

Salary: $6, $8,164.00 Monthly

The Opportunity:

This position supports the mission by managing all the technical needs of DCYF's Institutions and community facility IT needs within Department of Children Youth and Family Divisions. Utilizes knowledge of the agency's mission and standards to deliver expert -level technical planning, consultation and direction for critical DCYF services and technology initiatives. Collaborates with other IT System Administrator – Senior Supervisors, IT System Administrator - Journey and IT Customer Support - Journey, to ensure technical plans, decisions, and implementation of technology solutions are consistent across Department of Children Youth and Family.

Some of what you will get to do:

  • Provides desktop support including off-site support for troubleshooting hardware and/or software setup, conflicts, and difficulties.
  • Implement, configure and install systems/software and provide user support.
  • Follow purchasing, inventory control, disposal and evidentiary chain of custody policies and requirements.
  • Install and configure video conferencing equipment.
  • Proper disposal of assets when they have reached the end of useful life.
  • Provides backup support to other co-workers' offices regional or statewide.
  • Plans, schedules and performs hardware and software installs, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Monitors performance and maintains availability of DCYF networks.
  • Ensures the proper reporting and resolution of all lost equipment and potential security issues.
  • Image, install, configure and update Bios, operating system software, applications and hardware on all client computers including tablets, laptops, desktops.
  • Consult and coordinate with DCYF management to determine equipment needs for staff.

Required Qualifications:

Four years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing customer or technical support in information technology or administering or supervising staff who performed work in any of these information technology disciplines.

OR

An Associate's degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in an information technology or related program AND six (6) years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or databases

OR

A Bachelor's degree including 9 semester or 15 quarter hours of computer science courses AND four (4) years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or databases.

OR

1-year experience working as an Information Technology Specialist 3 equivalent or above.

Desirable/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office productivity software, and troubleshooting desktop issues.
  • Knowledge of DCYF public disclosure, adoption, and discovery policy and processes.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Experience and demonstrated success administering, supporting, and working with operating systems, software, and networks.
