Teacher/Intervention Specialist

The Achievement Centers for Children is a Cleveland, Ohio based non-profit organization that is nationally recognized for its excellence in helping children with disabilities and their families achieve and thrive.

We are currently seeking a Teacher/Intervention Specialist who would like to join our innovative K-12 school for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This position will be hired through the ESC and will work at ACC as a part of an interdisciplinary team in a full day (8:00 am – 4:00 pm) program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the classroom team and providing direct instruction to students
  • Developing and implementing prescribed behavior plans
  • Assisting with personal hygiene routines as needed
  • Following students' IEP goals when substituting in the classrooms

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Special Education
  • Current Ohio Intervention Specialist license, K-12 moderate-intensive (preferred).
  • Two or more years of experience teaching in a classroom setting with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Training and experience in 2 or more of the methodologies incorporated in the Autism School Model ( TEACCH, ABA/Discrete Trial, PECS, Social Skills groups, Functional Behavior Assessments) preferred.
