Working Conditions

Maintains the Arduous Fitness Standard in accordance with Department policy. The incumbent is required to wear respiratory protection equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). As such Cal/OSHA requires the incumbent to be annually medically cleared to be fit-tested for respiratory protection equipment. The Unit expects a two-year commitment for all permanent assignments before granting transfer eligibility. May be required to worknights, weekends or holidays in support of emergency incidents.

Benefits
This classification is eligible for the following pay:

$6882- $8930 Base Salary (paid every month)

$2281 - $3035 Extended Duty Week Compensation (paid every 4 weeks)

$112,237 – $146,615 Annual Compensation

In addition to the above pay items, employees are eligible for medical benefits (health, dental, vision) and may be eligible for other pay differentials.

Bargaining Unit 08 Consideration

The Bargaining Unit 8 Memorandum of Understanding regarding Voluntary In-Class Transfer Policy (Inter-Unit) (Section 9.2) will be followed. Transfers may require a two-year commitment.
