Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Garage Door Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installation, repair, and maintenance of garage doors and related systems. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in various construction-related tasks. The Garage Door Technician will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality service.

Duties

  • Install, repair, and maintain garage doors and openers.
  • Perform glass installation for garage door windows.
  • Utilize welding techniques for structural repairs as needed.
  • Employ hand tools and power tools effectively for various tasks.
  • Execute heavy lifting during installations and repairs.
  • Hang doors accurately according to specifications.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements.
  • Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with garage door systems.
  • Fabricate components as necessary for custom installations.
  • Engage in carpentry work including trim carpentry and frame carpentry.
  • Conduct fixture installation and cabinet installation as part of remodeling projects.
  • Implement locksmithing skills for secure installations.
  • Collaborate on construction sites, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Skills

The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Proficiency in glass installation and welding techniques.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting.
  • Strong background in door hanging, construction site experience, and general construction practices.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Solid mechanical knowledge with experience in fabrication.
  • Competence in carpentry including trim carpentry and frame carpentry.
  • Familiarity with locksmithing principles and maintenance person experience.
