Part Time Afternoon Assistant Teacher – Join Our Welcoming, Positive Team

Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour (based on experience)

Hours: 1:30 PM-6:30 PM

We're seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Afternoon AssistantTeacher to join our nurturing, collaborative team. In this role, you'll create a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment where children of all ages can explore, learn, and grow.

Your creativity and care will help shape the foundational experiences that prepare children for lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting lead teacher and engaging children in age-appropriate activites that support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence
  • Use positive guidance and effective behavior management strategies to promote a joyful learning experience
  • Build strong partnerships with parents through open, ongoing communication
  • Provide individualized support for children with special needs or early intervention plans
  • Assist lead teacher in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-prepared classroom
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or private school setting
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices
  • Experience in lesson planning, curriculum implementation, and classroom management
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Experience with two-year-olds and potty training is a plus
  • Early Childcare degree or CDA a huge plus
