Endoscopy Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the LPN will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, with a focus on pre-procedure, procedure, and post-procedure care. Minimum Qualifications:
- Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians.

- Extensive knowledge of nursing techniques.
- Pass security check.

- Ability to make frequent judgments and respond to routine problems.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED certification.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Active license within the state of South Carolina.
- CPR certification.
- IV conscious sedation training.
- Evidence of leadership qualities.
- Strong ethical and moral character references.
Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Duties:
- Assists the physician and/or RN in providing pre-procedure, procedure, and post-procedure care to the patient.
- Assists in the admission of patients to pre-procedure and post-procedure areas according to established guidelines.
- Implements appropriate nursing activities to provide safe and individualized nursing care.
- Addresses patient needs during admission to the endoscopy room, with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient setting.
- Identifies the patient and correct procedure according to policy and procedure and communicates with all members of the medical team.
- Provides comfort, reassurance to the patient, and maintains the patient's privacy and dignity.
- Explains procedures and care to the patient.
- Monitors patient condition and maintains accurate documentation pre-procedure, during the procedure, and post-procedure.
- Provides continuity of patient care by communicating with other perioperative care personnel and documenting records accordingly.
- Assists in explaining the physician's post-procedure instructions to the patient/family.
- Performs with competence in emergency situations.
- Post-procedure phone call to follow up with the patient the day after the procedure.
- Participates in Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement, and Infection Prevention Committee projects.
