Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgical Scrub Technician to support our surgical team in delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and surgery center protocols. As a vital member of the operating room team, you will assist plastic surgeons by preparing sterile instruments, maintaining a clean environment, and ensuring all surgical supplies are available and properly handled.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room by gathering surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to protocol and case.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety throughout all phases of surgery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with surgery center policies, infection control standards, and safety regulations.
  • Manage medical records related to surgical procedures using electronic health record (EHR) Nextech.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, suturing techniques, and emergency response protocols such as Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Maintain a clean, organized sterile field while adhering to infection control practices.
  • Order and organize surgical supplies.
  • Order and organize implant consignment stock.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Surgical Scrub Technician within hospital medicine or ambulatory surgery centers.
  • Extensive OR experience
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control principles.
  • Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including NexTech or comparable platform
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications in advanced trauma or critical care are advantageous.

Other Details:

  • 5 surgons rotate through the surgery center
  • cases are a maximum of 6 hours a day
  • typical hours are 6:00-2:00 but very day to day (sometimes less, typically not more)
