The Sr Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in advancing our technological capabilities through expert knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, CAD tools, and industry codes. This position requires a proactive individual with strong project management skills and a passion for engineering excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo, ensuring precision and adherence to project specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot mechanical issues, implementing effective corrective actions.
- Develop detailed schematics, drawings, and documentation in accordance with GD&T standards, ASME codes & standards, and drafting best practices.
- Manage project scheduling to meet deadlines and coordinate cross-disciplinary activities related to system design and manufacturing.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation techniques using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and LabVIEW to validate mechanical designs.
- Oversee manufacturing processes including CNC machining, CNC programming, and prototyping to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Integrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino platforms, and other control systems into mechanical designs for automation purposes.
- Collaborate with teams on system design involving quantum engineering principles and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards such as ASME codes & standards.
- Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems in laboratory or field environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; professional engineering license preferred.
- Extensive experience with mechanical design software including SolidWorks, Creo, and CAD drafting tools.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, GD&T, FEA, and system design methodologies.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, prototyping, and assembly.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino platforms, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Simulink for control system integration.
- Knowledge of industry standards including ASME codes & standards is essential.
- Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions effectively.
- Excellent project scheduling skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
