10-week Hybrid Accounting & Finance Internship
in Virginia Beach, VA provides hands-on experience applying accounting principles,
CECL (Current Expected Credit Loss)
standards, and
financial modeling techniques
in real-world scenarios.

What You'll Do

  • Gain experience with accounting applications of the CECL Standard (FASB ASC Topic 326).
  • Assist in
    credit risk analysis and forecasting techniques
    , including sensitivity analysis.
  • Learn and apply modeling methodologies such as
    Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF),
    and
    vintage/migration analysis.
  • Support
    journal entry creation, account reconciliation,
    and GAAP compliance tasks.
  • Help with
    financial reporting preparation, data load validation,
    and reconciliation.
  • Participate in
    model configuration, testing,
    and documentation for clients.
  • Research and present findings on
    industry best practices.
  • Contribute to
    month-end and quarter-end client tasks.

Qualifications

  • Sophomore or Junior (Undergraduate) studying
    Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Solid foundation in
    accounting principles
    and
    financial statements.
  • Basic understanding of
    credit and lending practices.
  • Introductory knowledge of the
    CECL standard.
  • Proficiency in
    Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong
    analytical, organizational,
    and
    problem-solving skills.
  • Effective
    written and verbal communication.
  • Undergraduate Minimum GPA:
    3.0
