Manufacturing Process Engineer

Future Foam is ranked in the top 4 polyurethane foam manufacturing companies in the U.S. We are the supplier to companies such as The Home Depot, Serta Simmons Bedding, Casper, Tuft & Needle, Tempur Sealy, and Ashley Furniture. We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer for our Newton, KS facility. This position will give you the opportunity to provide support to manufacturing activities, as well as the development and implementation of improved manufacturing processes and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Develops methods to solve complex problems and eliminate waste and rework time.

· Facilitates internal teams to determine root cause and implements corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.

· Leads department improvement activities.

· Responsible for applying knowledge of processes, controls, manufacturing techniques and engineering practices to ensure repeatable quality that meets customer specifications.

o Creates and modifies Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists and safety documents when needed.

o Designs and implements engineering upgrades to equipment and processes.

  • Work with the maintenance department on routine maintenance and equipment problems as well as manage maintenance and mechanical emergencies.
  • Develop workflows and plans for equipment, procedures and policies to increase efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure equipment and processes are running optimally and safely.
  • Creating safety guidelines in collaboration with the safety team
  • Collaborate and support manufacturing in their daily operations.
  • Analyzing issues to determine root cause.
  • Lead the planning and execution of continuous improvement projects.
  • Optimize raw material usage and minimize waste.
  • Responsible for writing reports.
  • Introduce innovation and automation in production and identify cost-saving opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS / OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or similar degree.
  • 2-3 years' industrial experience
  • Strong problem solving, data analysis, multitasking, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Customer service focused and detail oriented.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Skilled in quality systems and SPC
  • Data Analytics (PowerBI) skills desired.
  • Auto CAD and databases knowledge (Preferred).
  • Must be able to work independently and with teams. Should be able to interact with all levels of the organization, vendors and clients
