Senior Digital Transformation Engineering Manager

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Digital Transformation Engineering Manager to lead the Digital Transformation team for MS&B in Oklahoma City, OK.

This role is pivotal in driving the creation and preservation of a digital thread, enhancing engineering first-time quality, automating engineering quality checks, and infusing advanced technologies into the engineering value stream.  The successful candidate will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), members of the Technical Fellowship, and Senior Leadership to ensure the seamless integration of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies into our products.  This position oversees a team of around 40 people with two managers and will report to the Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) Director.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Digital Thread Creation and Preservation: Develop and maintain a comprehensive digital thread to ensure data continuity and traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Engineering Quality Improvement: Implement strategies to increase engineering first-time quality through standardization, automation, and advanced quality checks.
  • Technology Infusion: Drive the adoption of 3D Scanning, 3D Printing, Advanced Visualization, and other emerging technologies within the engineering value stream.
  • Systems Engineering: Oversee the deployment of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and other systems engineering practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, System Safety, Cyber Security, Certification (FAA and Mil-Certification), Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Sustainment Engineering, Program Management, and Information Technology teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with SMEs, Technical Fellows, and Senior Leadership to align digital transformation initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Tool and Process Development: Create and deploy advanced engineering tools, processes, and training programs to enhance technical capabilities.
  • AI Integration: Leverage artificial intelligence to improve engineering quality and reduce time to delivery.
  • PLM Environment Deployment: Lead the deployment of Dassault Systèmes 3D Experience as a transformational Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills with executive leadership, peers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Proficiency in advanced engineering tools and technologies, including MBSE, CAD, 3D scanning, 3D printing, and advanced visualization techniques.
  • Master of Science in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous management experience. 
  • Ability to build a safe environment of inclusion, transparency, and trust.
  • Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance.
  • Can gain trust of team and provide guidance for their careers.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $165,750 - $224,250
