Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects while managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders and ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent organizational skills, technical construction knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Project Manager plays a critical role in maintaining client satisfaction and driving the overall success of Flynn Construction Group, LLC.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Pre-Construction

  • Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and estimates
  • Develop comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and execution plans
  • Coordinate pre-construction activities, including scope reviews and risk assessments
  • Assist with value engineering and constructability reviews
  • Establish project communication plans and reporting structures

Project Execution & Oversight

  • Manage all phases of construction from mobilization through project close-out
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal teams
  • Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, building codes, and company standards
  • Maintain organized project documentation and records

Budget & Cost Control

  • Develop and manage project budgets and cost forecasts
  • Track costs, approve invoices, and manage change orders
  • Identify cost risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Review subcontractor pay applications and ensure accuracy
  • Provide regular financial updates to leadership

Schedule Management

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
  • Monitor milestones, deliverables, and critical paths
  • Coordinate sequencing of work to avoid delays
  • Resolve schedule conflicts and communicate changes promptly
  • Ensure projects are delivered within contractual timeframes

Subcontractor & Vendor Management

  • Assist with subcontractor selection and contract negotiations
  • Manage subcontractor performance, quality, and safety
  • Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules
  • Address performance issues and resolve disputes professionally
  • Ensure subcontractors comply with safety and contractual requirements

Quality Control & Safety

  • Enforce quality standards and inspection processes
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and punch-list completion
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company safety programs
  • Promote a culture of safety on all job sites
  • Address safety concerns and incidents promptly

Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates
  • Manage client expectations and address concerns proactively
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants
  • Maintain positive, professional client relationships

Risk Management & Problem Solving

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Resolve conflicts related to scope, schedule, or budget
  • Manage unforeseen site conditions or changes
  • Implement corrective actions to keep projects on track
  • Escalate critical issues to leadership when necessary

Project Close-Out

  • Ensure completion of punch-list items
  • Coordinate final inspections and approvals
  • Manage project close-out documentation, including warranties and as-builts
  • Ensure final invoicing and financial reconciliation
  • Conduct post-project reviews and lessons-learned evaluations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5–10 years of construction project management experience
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and contracts
  • Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractors
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial, residential, or specialty construction projects
  • OSHA certification or equivalent safety training
  • PMP or similar project management certification
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with local building codes and permitting processes
