Who We Are Looking For:

Star Autism Academy is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and energetic Director of Education. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all educational programming, compliance, and instructional quality. This position ensures that each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) is effectively developed, implemented, and monitored in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as educational administrator in alliance with the Department of Education requirements for Private Special Day School.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and participate in all IEP (District) & ISP (Voucher) meetings.
  • Review/consult on IEP goals, progress reports, and Prior Written Notices (PWNs).
  • Review/Print/Copy student IEP'S, ISP'S, scan to district when PWN is completed.
  • Attend IEP/ISP, MET meetings.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with all state testing requirements, including test administration and documentation (AZELLA, AASA, and Alternate assessments.
  • Oversee and ensure the qualification of our Preferred Private Day School Status with the Department of Education.
  • Collaborate with instructional staff to develop and implement data-driven educational programming.
  • Assist in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of Behavior Modification Plans in coordination with the behavioral team.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to teachers and staff regarding curriculum, IEP procedures, PWN's, and educational best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and outside agencies to foster strong partnerships that support student success.
  • Respond to emails: districts, state, parent, staff, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field
  • Valid state certification in Special Education or Educational Administration.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in special education leadership or program coordination.
  • Strong understanding of IEP compliance, progress monitoring, and behavior intervention principles.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Pay: Up to $65,000.00 per year
