Phase 1 Prep & Spray Technician – Geotrek Vans (Boulder, CO)

Full-Time | $24–$30/hr | 4-Day Workweek

What You'll Do

As a Phase 1 Prep & Spray Technician, you'll play a critical role in the earliest stage of each build.

Half of your time will be spent spraying Lizard Skin, a low-VOC thermal and sound-insulating coating that protects and quiets every van.

The other half will be focused on Phase 1 prep and assembly work, supporting the foundation of the entire build process.

Core Responsibilities

Spraying & Coatings (~50%):

• Apply Lizard Skin thermal and sound barrier coatings inside van shells
• Mask, prep, and clean all surfaces prior to spraying
• Maintain spray equipment and ensure consistent application quality
• Follow safety standards, PPE requirements, and cleanup procedures
• Inspect finished work for evenness, adhesion, and coverage

Phase 1 Build Prep (~50%):

• Assist with insulation prep, subfloor prep, and general first-stage build work
• Prep vans for window cuts, roof fan installs, and layout marking
• Install wiring chases, furring strips, and other early-stage components
• Help maintain cleanliness and workflow efficiency in Phase 1
• Identify improvements to speed, safety, and quality as we grow

This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, consistency, and pride in clean, high-quality work.

What We're Looking For

• 1–3 years in painting, auto body, construction, or similar trades
• Comfort with spray systems, air compressors, and masking techniques
• Strong work ethic and ability to stay focused on repetitive, high-importance tasks
• Desire to learn, adapt, and continuously improve
• Team mindset — plenty of collaboration with Phase 1 builders and project leads
• A passion for craftsmanship and working with your hands

Job Requirements

• Experience spraying, painting, or construction (Required)
• Valid Driver's License (Required)
• Must be able to commute to or relocate to Boulder, CO 80301
