Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Helper to support our team in a dynamic food service or hospitality environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for culinary arts, customer service, and hospitality operations. The Helper will assist with food preparation, guest services, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Prior experience in kitchens, restaurants, catering, or hospitality is preferred but not required. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary and customer service skills in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

  • Assist with food preparation, including basic cooking, meal assembly, and ingredient handling
  • Support kitchen staff with cleaning, bussing tables, and maintaining sanitation standards
  • Help with food plating and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
  • Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for order processing and payments
  • Provide guest services by greeting customers, answering questions, and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Support catering events by setting up tables, serving food, and managing event logistics
  • Handle food safety procedures including proper food handling and storage practices
  • Assist with delivery drivers when necessary for transporting supplies or orders
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, dining spaces, and equipment to meet health regulations
  • Support host/host duties such as seating guests and managing reservations

Skills

  • Previous experience in kitchen environments or food service roles such as catering, banquets, or restaurants is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and phone etiquette for guest interactions
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety standards
  • Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable is a plus
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Customer service orientation with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Basic knife skills and meat cutting experience are beneficial for culinary tasks
  • Experience in hospitality roles such as host/host or dietary aide enhances suitability for this position
  • Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
  • Flexibility to support various duties including cleaning, bussing, serving, and meal preparation
