Forklift Operator/Warehouse Worker

Job Overview

We are looking for individuals who can perform both forklift operations and floor work within our warehouse. This role involves using a forklift to move goods efficiently while also handling floor duties related to inventory organization and space allocation. This position plays a key role in improving logistics flow and optimizing the work environment. The individual will collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations and take responsibility for safe and accurate task execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Forklift Operation & Inventory Management

• Forklift Operation: Use a forklift to efficiently move goods within the warehouse, ensuring accurate handling of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Inventory Management: Verify the quantity and condition of incoming goods and place them in appropriate locations for easy retrieval. Prepare items for shipment quickly and accurately.
• Precise Location Assignment: Use the forklift to organize goods in a well-arranged manner to optimize warehouse space and make items easy to locate.
• Inventory Audits: Regularly check the inventory to ensure the location and quantity of items match the inventory system.

2. Floor Work (Inventory Organization & Space Allocation)

• Warehouse Space Planning & Organization: Maximize warehouse space by organizing inventory and managing shelving. Plan layouts based on factors such as product size, frequency of use, and shipping priority.
• Inventory Relocation & Reorganization: Regularly inspect and reorganize inventory to maintain a neat and efficient workspace. Primarily use the forklift to move items and adjust their placement.
• Logistics Flow Optimization: Perform periodic tasks to maintain clear aisles and ensure the smooth flow of goods in and out of the warehouse.
• Work Environment Management: Ensure that items and shelves are stored safely, following all safety procedures when moving heavy items. Proactively identify and prevent potential safety risks during space allocation tasks.

3. Safety & Quality Control

• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety regulations when operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Quality Control: Ensure that goods are not damaged during handling. Conduct thorough inspections of incoming goods and immediately report any quality issues.
• Work Environment Inspection: Regularly inspect the workspace and equipment for safety, and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.

4. Team Collaboration & Task Support

• Efficient Task Distribution: Collaborate with other team members to divide tasks and complete work quickly and accurately.
• Work Reporting & Communication: Report daily progress to supervisors and share any issues or improvements related to the logistics flow.
• Problem-Solving: Resolve any issues related to the movement of goods or other warehouse operations in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Forklift Operation Experience: Minimum of 2 years of forklift operation experience.
• Forklift Certification: Certification is preferred.
• Warehouse Management Experience: Experience with inventory management and material handling in a logistics environment is a plus.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and maintain mental resilience in a fast-paced environment.
• Organization & Space Management Skills: Ability to efficiently organize and manage warehouse space.
• Basic English Communication Skills: Ability to understand work instructions and collaborate with the team in basic English.
• Safety Awareness: Strong sense of responsibility for maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Logistics & Warehouse Experience: Experience in warehouse operations or logistics-related roles is preferred.
• Proficiency with Various Warehouse Equipment: Experience with additional warehouse equipment, such as reach trucks, pallet jacks, etc., is an advantage.
• Quick Learning & Adaptability: Ability to quickly adapt to new tasks and learn new skills in a changing environment.
• Self-Sufficient Work Approach: Ability to work independently and resolve issues as they arise.

Working Conditions

• Working Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
• Pay: $15–$16 per hour
