Job Summary: Provides academic instruction and student academic support for the Math & Computer Science department. Performs tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction including governance activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree in mathematics or a related field*, with at least 18 graduate credits in mathematics including courses in these areas: algebra/group theory/logic (such as abstract algebra or topology), and analysis (such as real analysis or complex analysis or functional analysis or probability measure theory); Math-related degrees include Mathematics Education, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Engineering.
*Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Hiring Range:$40,170 - $53,970
Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience in higher education
Job Specific Task List:
- Teaches assigned Mathematic courses. - (Standard)
- Participates in curriculum development and maintenance. - (Standard)
- Provides academic support and advising to students including establishing and maintaining a schedule of office hours. - (Standard)
- Participates in college governance by serving on joint, ad hoc, faculty, campus, division and discipline committees. - (Standard)
- Participates in the recruitment and hiring of new faculty through participation on assigned search committees. - (Standard)
- Participates in college and community service activities. - (Standard)
- Participates in professional growth activities and maintains awareness of new trends and developments within areas of instructional responsibility. - (Standard)
- Coordinate, plan, organize, and instruct academic courses according to approved course syllabus. - (Essential)
- Provide high quality and consistent academic instruction to students. - (Essential)
- Keep students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance requirements. - (Essential)
- Maintain accurate and complete scholastic records, including attendance records. - (Essential)
- Maintain scheduled office hours. - (Essential)
- Ensure that assigned classes are held as scheduled. - (Essential)
- Organize and maintain class work and assignments. - (Essential)
- Strive for the qualities delineated in the criteria for faculty evaluation used by the college. - (Essential)
