The Transit Department is seeking a highly motivated Grants Administrator to support and advance critical transit initiatives through effective grant identification, administration, and compliance.

The Grants Administrator plays a key role in supporting the Transit Department's mission by securing and managing federal and state grant funding. This position collaborates closely with the Transit management team to ensure grant funds are obtained, administered, and reported in full compliance with applicable regulations.

About the Role

The Grants Administrator is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, preparing and submitting grant applications, managing awarded funds, and ensuring ongoing compliance with grant requirements. This role maintains accurate grant records, prepares required reports, and serves as a key liaison between funding agencies and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying federal and state grant opportunities relevant to transit operations and capital projects
  • Preparing and submitting grant applications and supporting documentation
  • Monitoring grant compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Managing grant budgets, expenditures, and documentation
  • Preparing performance, financial, and closeout reports
  • Coordinating with internal departments, finance, and external agencies
  • Maintaining grant records within grant management systems

Qualifications

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4 to 6 years of experience in securing and administering grants or a closely related field
  • "OR" an Associate Degree with 6 to 8 years of experience in securing and administering grants or a closely related field
  • "OR" a High School Diploma with 8 to 10 years of experience in securing and administering grants or a closely related field
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Administration, Public Administration, Transportation, or a related field
  • Procurement experience
  • Experience working in a governmental environment
  • Experience using grant management systems (e.g., TrAMS, NCID, or similar)
