Job Title: HR Admin/Payroll Assistant
Position Summary:
American Flagging, LLC is a rapidly growing company that provides traffic control products and services to clients throughout the states of Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Maine. The HR Admin/Payroll Assistant provides administrative support for a human resource department by managing employee records, assisting with new hire on boarding, filing retention, employee engagement, and general inquiries. The payroll position will support all requirements of the daily functions of verifying submitted timesheets, Dayforce punches, and payroll reporting.
Essential HR Functions:
- Identify, analyze, research, and maintain DOL standards, file retentions in compliance with Federal, multiple State and Local laws.
- Update, maintain, and enter applicable information into Dayforce and TCR systems.
- Assist with new hire on boarding paperwork, and termination records.
- Assist with managers, employee's daily communication, questions, emails.
- Ensure HR policies are kept updated, accessible and confidential.
- Assist with performance reviews, compliance, and submissions.
- Process HR reports on activities and compliance issues on an at-need basis.
- Other HR duties as needed.
Essential Payroll Functions:
- Scanning and filing when needed
- Collection and Verification of Timesheets and other Payroll Back Up
- Daily adding of missed punch forms to Dayforce
- Updating Invoice program TCR to match Timesheets
- Compiling and sending Certified Payroll Reports to clients when completed
- Ad Hoc and Certified Payroll reporting (Labor reports and check register reports)
- Weekly Invoice Identification and resolution assistance
- Other payroll duties as needed.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting Department of Labor rules and specifications for multi-state companies.
- Strong knowledge of basic payroll processing
- Experience using basic HRIS integrated payroll software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to assess project risks and complexities.
- Excellent Time Management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work independently and consistently to meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyze and prepare summary reports.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with management and staff.
- Able to work cross functionally with payroll, and succession payroll backup.
- Computer proficiency in HRIS/Payroll platforms required.
- Confidentiality is crucial for protecting sensitive employee information.
Required/ Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in HR and Payroll processing
- Bachelor's Degree in any related field; a plus but not required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Work Location:
The American Flagging, LLC headquarters is in Hudson, NH. This position will be based out of headquarters.
