Arlluk Technology Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Principal Network Engineer to support ATS and our government customer in Washington, DC. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

The Principal Network Engineer will be a subject matter expert and technical leader responsible for architecting highly complex and secure network solutions for government customers. This hands-on role will design multi-vendor Enterprise and Service Provider architectures incorporating routing, switching, wireless, security, and emerging technologies. Responsibilities include:
 
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as the lead network architect designing secure, redundant, and scalable architecture
  • Conduct deep-level technical evaluations to ensure designs meet requirements and specifications
  • Partner with customers to gather business/technical requirements and propose innovative solutions
  • Define and implement network standards, configurations, and automation across environments
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior network engineering teams
  • Develop training materials and conduct knowledge transfer sessions
  • Analyze network traffic data to identify optimization and capacity planning improvements
  • Evaluate and test new products/technologies for potential implementation
  • Create detailed design and architecture documentation based on best practices
  • Lead complex implementation projects from planning through deployment
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 10+ years of direct networking architecture, design, and implementation experience
  • Extensive hands-on expertise with Enterprise/Service Provider routing (MPLS, BGP, OSPF, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, protocols, and architectures
  • Experience with SDN, cloud networking, data center fabrics, and virtualization
  • Proven success leading deployment projects for large, complex network environments
  • Solid understanding of network security principles, policies, and best practices
  • Current Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) or Cisco Certified Architect certification
Key Skills:
  • Exceptional technical architecture, design, and problem-solving abilities
  • Expertise in network automation/scripting using Python, Ansible, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to consult with clients and mentor teams
  • Ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into technical designs
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
  • Proficient with network analysis tools like Solarwinds, Wireshark, etc.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal networks
  • Expert knowledge of IPv6 transition, SDWAN, and multi-cloud connectivity
  • Understanding of software-defined architectures, containerization, and DevOps
  • Possession of additional professional certifications (JNCIP, JNCIE, etc.)
