Community Engagement for Decolonizing and Advancing Research (CEDAR) is a new division within The Native American Community Clinic's (NACC) growing organizational structure. CEDAR is committed to conducting research that respects and upholds the rights of Indigenous Peoples in research, positions our values and knowledge systems at the center of our research efforts, and produces innovative and meaningful solutions for the health challenges our communities confront through projects that are fully aligned with the intention to promote healing and wellbeing across generations and within families and community.

SUMMARY:

Project BRAID ( B uilding R elationships A round I ndigenous En D urance) implements and assesses the impact of after-school programming specifically designed to promote Indigenous Knowledge and sovereignty; it is a focal project at the CEDAR Center.

The Sustainability Coordinator will provide critical support in advancing the BRAID program through research coordination, data management, curriculum development, and program expansion. This role combines data collection and analysis, intern supervision, training coordination, and dissemination activities to ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of this culturally-grounded Indigenous youth wellness initiative.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Research Coordination & Data Management (40%)

  • Coordinate participant enrollment and informed consent processes across all Twin Cities BRAID study sites
  • Administer pre/post youth surveys and coordinate focus group/interview data collection activities; may require site visits within MSP
  • Manage qualitative data workflows including uploading de-identified transcripts to Dedoose, assisting in code development, reviewer assignments, and coordination of coding discussions and theme development
  • Process quantitative data from RedCap including data harvesting, cleaning, and preparation for statistical analysis
  • Collaborate with research team to design analyses examining changes in knowledge, behavior, and intention
  • Liaise with research staff and Coalition members to present preliminary findings and update analyses
    Attend weekly BRAID project meetings

Program Expansion & Training (30%)

  • Coordinate "Train the Trainers" model implementation for expansion year
  • Support coaches training initiatives including Indigefit Begay sessions in Shakopee and TCNL-specific training programs
  • Supervise and support interns (DWH Youth Leaders) as they learn and implement the BRAID curriculum through hands-on supervision
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer of BRAID curriculum to program interns
  • Lead weekly supervision meetings with interns to address curriculum planning, supply management, youth engagement strategies, and implementation challenges
    Participate in monthly BRAID coalition meetings

Curriculum Development & Refinement (20%)

  • Contribute to BRAID 2.0 curriculum refinement based on iterative feedback cycles
  • Work with Youth Programs Coordinator and research staff in curriculum refinement for Spring 2026 implementation and future iterations
  • Ensure fidelity to core BRAID concepts emphasizing relationship and context-based learning
  • Support expansion of introductory year programming to include multi-year pathways and family engagement components
  • Integrate Indigenous knowledge systems and social/political determinants of health into curriculum design
  • Develop explicit stewardship and leadership components addressing climate, economics, and food sovereignty
    Collaborate with the research team to continue refining the BRAID "cycle"

Dissemination & Reporting (10%)

  • Support development of BRAID conceptual model documentation
  • Assist with CFIR (Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research) assessment and reporting
  • Contribute to literature reviews on Indigenous health and evidence-based intervention effectiveness
  • Collaborate with research team in drafting, writing, and editing products to disseminate results to community members, fellow organizations, and academic audiences
  • Support manuscript writing and presentation preparation highlighting program outcomes and community impact
    Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-3 years' experience working with Indigenous youth and/or after-school programming
  • 1-3 years' experience conducting qualitative and/or mixed methods research
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace
  • Ability to attend after-school programming (4-7pm) as needed (up to 3x/week)
