Position Overview

The Operations Manager / Project Manager oversees all aspects of the commercial roofing division at Roof Systems Inc. This position ensures that every project is completed safely, profitably, and according to company standards for quality and customer satisfaction. The role combines operational leadership, project management, and team coordination, bridging the field and office to deliver exceptional results on TPO, PVC, and standing seam metal roofing systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee commercial roofing projects from pre-construction to closeout.
  • Manage project budgets, materials, manpower, and subcontractors to ensure jobs are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with estimators, sales reps, and superintendents to ensure project scope and expectations are clear.
  • Conduct pre-job and post-job meetings to review performance, punch lists, and lessons learned.
  • Maintain communication with clients and general contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Operations Leadership

  • Manage and optimize daily operations of the commercial division, including scheduling crews, equipment, and materials.
  • Implement and monitor safety procedures, ensuring full OSHA compliance and company safety standards.
  • Oversee quality control for installations—TPO, PVC, EPDM, and metal roofing systems.
  • Support and develop foremen and field staff through training, coaching, and accountability.
  • Work with accounting and leadership to track job costs, billing, and profitability reports.

Administrative & Strategic Duties

  • Collaborate with the executive team on growth strategies, staffing plans, and process improvements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation: job files, change orders, submittals, warranties, and closeout packages.
  • Participate in estimating reviews, bid meetings, and project hand-offs.
  • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor performance and maintain key relationships.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial roofing or construction project management.
  • Strong knowledge of low-slope roofing systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM, and standing seam metal).
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent organizational, budgeting, and scheduling skills.
  • Proficiency with project management and CRM software (Centerpoint Connect experience a plus).
  • OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
