DRUG FREE WORKPLACE

Definition & Essential FunctionsUnder general supervision, provides a variety of routine and complex administrative and technical support in the administration of City government for the City Clerk. FLSA status: Non-Exempt.

TasksPreparation, posting and distribution of Council Meeting materials.
Attendance and preparation of Council Meeting and Work Session Minutes.
Maintenance of City Boards and Commission records.
Risk Management: Receive claims from citizens and develop working claims files; maintain records of claims submitted to and by the City; maintain a record of claims filed, paid, and denied; keep accurate records of risk management costs to include claims and insurance; keep vehicle, mobile equipment, and building schedules.
Elections: Prepare elections packets; maintain records of elections to include candidate packets, financial reports, and inquiries; keep accurate records of elections results; assist the City Clerk in monitoring the elections process.
Performs complex administrative duties involving department and municipal functions and procedures; researches, compiles, and assists in data analysis for special reports and projects; compiles data and prepares routine periodic reports; assists in the management of special projects; develops informational materials; gathers and compiles information for budget development; aids in the monitoring and control of the budget; responds to requests and resolves complaints through interpretation of City and department policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; supervises the work of assigned staff; act in the stead of the City Clerk during any absence of the Clerk.

Elections process.

Researching, compiling, and preparing reports.
English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Using office equipment, including personal computers and computer terminals.
Training, supervising, and evaluating the work of office staff.
Preparing accurate and concise reports.
Planning, organizing, and prioritizing work assignments.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with City staff, outside agencies, and the general public.
Preparing and maintaining complex financial and statistical records and reports.
Graduation from high school or equivalent and five (5) years related experience; or an Associates Degree and one (1) year of related experience. CMC Certification is desirable.
Degree must be from an institution accredited as recognized by the U.S Department of Education as indicated in the Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs.

Police and Fire personnel participate in the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS). Mandatory employee contribution rate range is currently 7.65% % depending on eligible tier with PSPRS.
All employees are eligible to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation plan.
Vacation Employees earn twelve vacation days per year, available for use after six months, with increases to accrual rates in five-year service increments.
Additional Time Off/Sick Leave Employees earn twelve paid sick days per year for use after one month.
