Job Summary:

Slane Co.'s client in the grading, clearing, and utilities world is hiring an experienced Senior Estimator. This role leads the cost modeling, takeoffs, and bid development for grading and site development projects, ensuring accurate, competitive proposals from start to finish.

Duties/Responsibilities:


• Responsible for bid administration in preparing full estimates on complex work


• Prepares and maintains the status of plan reproduction


• Solicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendors


• Prepares subcontractor bid packages


• Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain competitive pricing from subcontractors


• Submits 100% of bids and budgets to the Chief Estimator by the bid deadline


• Efficiently performs all stages of an estimate including project selection, estimate organization, takeoffs, pricing, review, and closeout


• Communicates project progress/status with management


• Prepares, analyzes, and maintains accurate quantities and thorough takeoffs from plans


• Estimates time, materials, and equipment required for job completion

Required Skills/Abilities:


• Proficiency with computer-based estimating systems, including AGTEK for takeoffs and HeavyBid for cost estimating and bid development


• Strong analytical and financial skills with the ability to interpret production data and cost structures


• Advanced competency using construction cost estimation software, electronic spreadsheets, and standard word-processing tools

Education and Experience:


• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred


• 5+ years of experience as an estimator in construction or grading

Physical Requirements:


• Ability to spend time on job sites as needed


• Must be able to sit for extended periods when working on estimates
