Position Summary:

BES Solutions, Inc. is seeking a knowledgeable Construction Inspector to support onsite construction inspection and compliance activities for WMATA projects. This temporary, full-time position requires the ability to work throughout the DC–Maryland–Virginia (DMV) metro area and provide onsite support at WMATA-designated facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain familiarity with plans, drawings, specifications, regulations, contractor schedules, safety standards, approved working drawings, and relevant codes.
  • Evaluate contractor performance, identify probable changed site conditions, and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Serve as WMATA escort for field inspection teams at job sites and Bus/Rail operating facilities.
  • Inspect construction sites, document deficiencies, and coordinate with engineers and contractors.
  • Prepare draft correspondence for Authority Representatives regarding technical matters.
  • Use digital tools (camera, laptop, radio, cell phone) to document and communicate field conditions effectively.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience (must meet one of the following):

  • Graduate from a trade school with 8 years of relevant field experience; or
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 12 years of relevant field experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical or engineering field with 4 years of relevant field experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Construction and/or technical inspection experience in the areas of assigned responsibility is required (level dependent on education).
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital documentation tools and standard office software.
  • Must be available for on-site work at WMATA-designated facilities across the DMV region.

Work Environment:

This position involves regular onsite inspections at active construction and transportation facilities. Candidates must be comfortable working in field conditions and interacting with various construction and engineering teams.

Pay: $ $45.00 per hour
