Overview:

The Lead Operator assists in the supervision and daily operations of our security monitoring room. This leadership position supports the Shift Supervisor and oversees a team of 1-6 Monitoring Operators, ensuring proper coverage, incident response, and adherence to operational protocols. The Lead Operator plays a critical role in maintaining security integrity and responding to real-time incidents in a fast-paced environment.

Two Shifts Available:

Shift 1 -Overnight (Full-time):

Thurs/Fri: 2am-7am

Fri-Sun: 8:45pm-7am

Shift 2 - Daytime (Part-time):

Sat-Sun: 6:45am-7p

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations & Oversight

· Assist with day-to-day operations of the monitoring room and supervise 1–6 monitoring operators.

· Take full supervisory control when Shift Supervisor is absent; assist the Supervisor when present.

· Ensure all staff follows the Secur-NetUSA Handbook, policies, and monitoring room rules.

· Conduct and document shift change meetings to share updates and incidents.

Backup Leadership

· Fully trained to step into the Supervisor role in their absence.

· Follow directives from Monitoring Manager, Director, or higher authority when Supervisor is unavailable.

Incident Management

· Prioritize and respond to incidents in real-time.

· Notify appropriate departments (IT, Service, Police) regarding site issues or emergencies.

· Generate preliminary incident reports for police responses and forward to Monitoring Director.

· Maintain accurate, time-stamped communication logs and ensure documentation of all incidents.

System & Facility Management

· Verify operational status of all monitoring stations at the beginning of each shift.

· Report and track equipment issues; coordinate with IT for resolution.

· Maintain cleanliness and order of monitoring and break room areas.

Reporting & Documentation

· Review operator reports and communication logs; implement resolutions as needed.

· Provide weekly summaries of shift activity to upper management.

· Assist in the preparation of bi-monthly reports required by clients.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a monitoring/security operations center.

· Excellent communication and multitasking skills.

· Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

· Familiarity with surveillance systems and incident reporting processes a plus.

Work Environment:

· Shift-based work; must be available to work various hours including weekends and holidays.

· Primarily office-based within a secured monitoring environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
