Job Summary

As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our construction projects by providing accurate and timely cost estimates that drive our success. Your expertise in construction estimating and project management will empower our teams to make informed decisions, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. You will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to develop comprehensive pricing strategies that reflect the true scope of work.

What you'll do

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
  • Utilize Bluebeam and HeavyBid software to create precise take-offs and pricing models.
  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and terms for materials and services.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and implement effective cost control measures.
  • Collaborate with construction management teams to assess site conditions and provide insights that influence project planning.
  • Review contracts to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence for future reference.

Experience

  • Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and HeavyBid software is essential for efficient take-off calculations.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills that lead to favorable outcomes in supplier agreements.
  • Familiarity with cost control techniques and pricing strategies specific to the construction industry.
  • Previous experience working on construction sites is highly desirable, providing practical insights into project execution.
  • A background in construction management or project management is preferred to facilitate effective collaboration across teams.
