Duties

  • You will perform progressive, static, and dynamic examinations of assigned aircraft systems, components, and accessories to determine product condition, take measurements, and record tolerances.
  • You will identify and document tasks and discrepancies on aircraft systems, components, and accessories which are deemed suitable for continued service without replacement, rework, or processing.
  • You will evaluate aircraft systems involved in crash damage, heat/fire/salt water damage, hard landings, overstress conditions and conduct aircraft systems and sub-systems troubleshooting and fault isolation.
  • You will ensure that product is reworked within technical specifications and meets negotiated labor and material requirements by applying the most appropriate and effective examination and evaluation processes, methods and techniques.
  • You will determine the induction configuration and establish which technical directives must be accomplished to produce the required product configuration.
  • You will identify tasks that are over and above the required depot rework specifications which includes labor and material.
  • You will collect and provide data for engineering and logistics analysis, norms and budget formulation, material forecasting, and workload planning.
  • You will interpret information from blueprints, detailed engineering specifications, and technical specifications.
  • You will accomplish other duties as assigned.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO INSPECT, and includesthe following: 1) Examining, evaluating, and analyzing the condition of aircraft hydraulic, pneudraulic, and other mechanical systems, components, and accessories; 2) Determining the induction configuration and establishing which technical directives must be accomplished to produce the required product configuration; 3) Applying working knowledge of key examination and evaluation processes such as, induction, aircraft inventory, system evaluation troubleshooting, logbook review, technical directive review, and application of engineering specifications; and 4) Interpreting information from various sources such as blueprints, engineering specifications, and technical directives to accomplish work tasks.
