Teacher Assistant

Position Overview:

The Teacher Assistant supports the classroom teacher in fostering a faith-filled, nurturing, and engaging learning environment aligned with the mission of Father John V. Doyle School. The ideal candidate demonstrates a love of children, strong communication skills, and a collaborative spirit while assisting with academic, social, and spiritual growth in a Catholic school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the lead teacher in daily classroom instruction, activities, and supervision.
  • Assist with implementing lessons, grading, and preparing classroom materials.
  • Provide individual or small-group support to students as directed by the teacher.
  • Supervise students during recess, lunch, and transitions to ensure safety and positive behavior.
  • Foster an atmosphere of respect, kindness, and Christian values consistent with the school's mission.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and students.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
  • Commitment to Catholic education and the values of Father John V. Doyle School.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow teacher direction.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.25 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
