This is a 12-month limited-term position and may be extended to a maximum of 24-months and/or may become permanent based on operational needs.

The Quality Management Bureau (QMB) supports continuous quality improvement throughout the Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) by conducting research, analyzing data, and providing regular reporting to facilitate informed decision-making.

The Data and Research Unit collects and analyzes data to support CCLD's continuous quality improvement, equity initiatives, and other mandated reporting.

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) the Research Data Analyst II (RDA II) performs analytical and administrative functions to support CCLD's quality management system. The incumbent conducts quantitative and qualitative data analysis using a variety of CCLD data systems and produces analytical reports of findings that provide actionable information to help assure the health and safety of individuals living in community care facilities. The RDA II will support implementation of Assembly Bill 262 (Children's Camps) by leading data collection, analysis, and coordination activities with the Child Care Program to inform recommendations to the Legislature on potential regulatory oversight of children's camps.

Working Conditions

This work location is very convenient The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance of the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmers' markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.

This position is eligible for hybrid work in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order N-22-25 and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies. For positions advertised in more than one location, headquarter location may be designated on the selected candidate's primary residence location, and/or the closest CDSS location in accordance with operational need and available space. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
