Veterinary Clinical Training & Compliance Lead

Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) is a new, state-of-the-art facility that opened in May 2024—an expansive, 100,000+ square foot space nearly twice the size of our original Tinton Falls location. This milestone marks the continuation of over 40 years of dedicated service to our community. Equipped with advanced diagnostics like MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and a PET scanner, the hospital features 52 exam rooms, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated emergency department, and expanded training spaces. Thoughtful amenities—including feline-only waiting areas, a rehab unit, comfort rooms, and a serene zen garden—reflect our commitment to exceptional care for pets and their families.
Position Overview:
The Veterinary Clinical Training & Compliance Lead is responsible for both supporting clinical staff development and leading hospital safety programs. This individual will provide skills coaching, checklist support, and educational support for veterinary nursing staff, while also serving as a resource for safety training, and hazard management. The position ensures that both team development and safety standards are aligned with hospital values, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Compensation:
- Credentialed Technicians: $29- $39/hr. based on experience
- Non-Credentialed Technicians: $24- $30/hr. based on experience
Anticipated Schedule:
- Full Time
- Rotating training shifts between 6 AM and 2 AM as needed
- No weekends, holidays, or beepers required
- Final schedule TBD by L&D Manager
Clinical Coaching & Training
- Mentor nursing staff in real time and using our Learning Management System (LMS)
- Provide hands-on skills coaching, competency verification, and real-time feedback
- Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators to identify training needs and align expectations
- Support on-the-floor learning to reinforce SOPs, efficiency, and patient care standards
- Foster a learner-centered, psychologically safe environment
- Stay current on veterinary training methods and best practices
- Serve as the hospital's primary Safety Officer under the guidance of the L&D Manager
- Conduct safety inspections, hazard assessments, and incident reviews
- Oversee documentation, safety manuals, and SDS binder compliance
- Collaborate with the Training Specialist to maintain safety training in the LMS
- Drive accountability and awareness of safety culture across teams
- Reinforce RBVH's mission, values, and culture of respect and collaboration
- Communicate training outcomes and safety updates with leadership
- Model professionalism and ethical behavior, maintaining confidentiality and inclusivity
- Promote a positive and solution-oriented work environment
- Promote a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusivity, and equality, ensuring all team members are respected and valued. Set high standards for professional and ethical behavior within the nursing team, inspiring adherence through personal example and leadership practices to foster an environment of integrity, professionalism, and non-discrimination.
- Actively promote a workplace environment free from gossip by encouraging open, respectful, and solution-focused communication among team members. Address issues directly and constructively to prevent misunderstandings and maintain team cohesion.
- Uphold confidentiality in handling privileged information.
- Ensure that all team members understand and comply with legal and ethical standards related to privacy, thereby maintaining trust and safeguarding sensitive information.
Minimum Requirements:
- Three years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary specialty or emergency hospital.
- Proficiency in veterinary clinical skills at Level 2 Nurse or higher
- Knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards, PPE, and infection control
- Strong EQ, adaptability in teaching, and effective communication skills
- Adaptability in teaching styles to support diverse learners
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable collaborating across clinical, operational, and leadership teams to achieve safety and training goals
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable with digital tools used for learning and documentation
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus
- Five years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary specialty or emergency hospital.
- One year of experience in a training/teaching role
- Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)
- Advanced knowledge in OSHA and safety regulations
