Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated (HTS) Habilitation Training Specialist to support individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism. This full-time position involves providing personalized care, implementing behavioral health strategies, and assisting clients in achieving greater independence within their home and community settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, experience in special education or caregiving, and a genuine commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

Duties

  • Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to each client's needs and goals
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility support
  • Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
  • Support clients in community outings, transportation, and social activities, ensuring safety at all times
  • Collect and document data related to client progress, behaviors, and service delivery for ongoing assessment
  • Administer medications as prescribed following proper protocols
  • Use American Sign Language or other communication methods to facilitate effective interaction when applicable
  • Provide caregiving support in various settings, including home visits and community programs
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and team members to ensure comprehensive care planning
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided and client interactions in compliance with agency policies

Qualifications

  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs preferred
  • Background in special education, social work, or related fields is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies and medication administration protocols
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to assist with ADLs and provide direct support in various environments
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community-based services
  • Experience with data collection and documentation for service tracking purposes
  • Compassionate attitude with a commitment to person-centered care and empowering individuals toward independence
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Certificates, Licenses and/or Registrations

  • Possession of a valid Oklahoma Driver's License, current vehicle insurance verification and vehicle to drive to and from work.

Training

  • Foundations, ETL1 (first 30 days), IHCF Employee orientation, First Aid and CPR (before working in home), M.A.T. (before giving meds), ETL2, Ethical & Legal, Communications, Connections, Nuts & Bolts, Skill Building, HD1, HD2, and Individual specific training. (IHCF will send you to training. Training is mandatory to keep position.)

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to walk/stand up to 90% of the time.
  • May bend several times in order to meet the needs of the service recipient.
  • May carry up to 50 lbs. May move equipment. (average force push 20 lbs.)
  • May lift several times to meet the needs of the service recipient.

Shifts

  • Overnight Shift 11 PM - 9 AM Sun-Thu
  • Evening Shift 3 PM - 11 PM Tue-Fri

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $13.50 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Working with people with developmental disabilities: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
