Hungry, Humble, Honest, with Heart.

The Opportunity
Nutanix has always been known for bringing simplicity to the most complex of technology challenges, delivering it through beautiful engineering and simple, "one-click" software. As enterprises face an unprecedented acceleration in application development-fueled by cloud-native architectures, digital transformation, and the explosive impact of Generative AI-data has become both a critical asset and a major challenge.

Nutanix Database Service (NDB) is our answer to this complexity. It offers a unified, automated platform to manage all database operations-from provisioning and patching to scaling and lifecycle management-across hybrid and multicloud environments. NDB is already running in some of the world's largest enterprises, delivering mission-critical services that support accelerated application performance, ensure data governance, and help meet stringent regulatory compliance requirements. Uniquely, NDB supports the most popular database engines in the enterprise, including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, on a single, unified platform.

We are seeking a visionary Global Sales Leader to spearhead our NDB go-to-market strategy. This is a critical leadership role responsible for shaping our presence in the database market, driving revenue growth, and establishing Nutanix as a definitive thought leader in the DBaaS space.

About The Team
The NDB Specialist Sales Team sits at the center of one of Nutanix's most strategic growth areas and has been instrumental in our success with the world's largest companies.

  • Global and Highly Collaborative: The organization is global, with team members across North America, EMEA, and APJ. The team operates with a highly collaborative mindset, partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, Product Marketing, Core Sales, and Channel teams.
  • Mission-Driven and Customer-Centric: The team is united by a shared mission: helping customers modernize their database estates, simplify operations, and accelerate digital transformation. We work directly with customers ranging from Fortune 100 enterprises to digital-native startups.
  • Supportive Leadership & Culture: You will join a group that values humility, transparency, and accountability. Our leaders are highly accessible and invested in professional development, mentorship, and team-based success.

Your Role
As the Global NDB Sales Leader, you will be at the forefront of the database industry's transformation. Your mission is to evangelize the value of NDB, build and lead a high-performing specialist sales organization, and drive strategic engagements with enterprise customers.

  • Strategic GTM Leadership: You will own the global strategy, go-to-market plan, and execution for the NDB business. You will be measured against pipeline generation, bookings targets, and customer adoption.
  • Global Sales and Revenue Ownership: Own the worldwide sales number, revenue targets, and sales projections for NDB. Your focus will be on increasing the value delivered to customers, shortening sales cycles, and successfully displacing competitors.
  • Team Building and Leadership: Lead a global matrixed team of highly skilled, seasoned database sales specialists. You will be responsible for hiring, coaching, and developing top talent in the market.
  • Database Thought Leadership: Act as the leading voice for Nutanix in the database market. Represent our vision and point of view at industry events, with analysts, and in high-level customer meetings. Drive our brand as an innovator in DBaaS.
  • Ecosystem and Channel Development: Collaborate with our ecosystem teams to build and execute a plan with key partners, including database vendors, cloud providers, OEMs, and GSIs, to multiply our market reach.
  • Sales Enablement: Partner with our enablement teams to implement a comprehensive training plan that ensures every seller can articulate the critical database challenges Nutanix solves and our key differentiators.
  • Executive Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to influence the NDB roadmap based on market feedback and customer needs, ensuring our offerings drive deal velocity and partner autonomy.

What You Will Bring
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and entrepreneurial Senior Director to lead our Global NDB Sales organization. You will report to Global Sales leadership and be responsible for leading the go-to-market strategy and execution for Nutanix's premier database solution.

  • Deep Database Domain Expertise: Extensive experience in the database and Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) market is essential. You must have a strong understanding of database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), data management trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Proven Sales Leadership: 10+ years of quota-carrying enterprise software sales experience and 5+ years in a senior sales leadership role (Director/VP level) in a fast-paced, global, matrixed environment.
  • GTM Strategy and Execution: Demonstrated track record of building and executing successful go-to-market strategies that resulted in significant revenue growth for a new or emerging product line within the enterprise software space.
  • Thought Leadership Presence: Proven ability to act as a market evangelist, with experience speaking at industry events, engaging with analysts, and building a strong brand presence. You are a storyteller who can rally customers and sellers around a forward-looking vision.
  • Complex Deal Experience: You have extensive experience negotiating large, complex software deals with enterprise customers.
  • Entrepreneurial and Collaborative Spirit: You are a humble leader with a bias for action, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an affinity for teamwork. You thrive in a role with limited direction and are a proven self-starter.
  • You hold a Bachelor's Degree or have equivalent work experience; an MBA is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (domestic and international).
