Compiles data and operates typewriter or computer in performance of routine clerical duties to maintain business records and reports by performing the following duties. This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

  • Performs routine office duties such as providing assistance to taxpayers, other offices, and staff as needed.
  • Log complaints regarding how the deeds are processed.
  • Explain real estate taxation process to customers.
  • Explain, receive, log and scan tax discount applications.
  • Receive, log and scan taxpayer appeals.
  • Reviews, verifies, and processes mailing address changes for purpose of proper taxation.
  • Perform other duties and related work as instructed and assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Ability, Mathematical and Language Skills:

Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. The ability to apply the concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
