Senior Platform Engineer- TS/SCI w/ Poly

This position requires an active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.
Solidus is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer with well-rounded Linux Infrastructure Engineering expertise to join a multi-discipline team of engineers in accomplishment of O&M tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and maintaining fundamental hardware and software components that form the foundation of operational support to ensure the reliability, scalability and security.

This position is based in Dulles VA and will be supporting a nearby customer location within a Secure Compartmented Integration Facility (SCIF) and may require some travel (10% or less) to other customer sites for support and possible on call support/overtime.

Day In The Life

• Involved with supporting Echelon 1 (E1) actives to maintain and troubleshoot software, physical servers, networking, storage and cloud environments to ensure system operates efficiently; and meet mission needs
• Support deployment of O&M patches and baseline updates; enterprise level integration efforts; document defects in customer and program defect databases; support technical interchange meetings with system operators, enterprise partners, and program customer
• Maintain existing systems through Linux-based tools and manage the COTS/FOSS software on the system to support program needs
• Ensure that all computer, network, and storage resources are maintained for mission use
• Participate in the deployment of new system baselines (e.g. operating systems, software, network configurations, and data storage configurations)
• Travel to other customer sites or to the factory as needed to assist in system updates, deliveries, and troubleshooting activities when necessary
• Be part of a call-in rotation to provide occasional off-hours support

Required Qualifications & Experience

• US Citizen with a active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance
• Undergo a comprehensive background investigation
• BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics
• 5 years of related work experience
• VMware: vCenter and ESXi
• Linux system administration (RHEL/OL preferred)
• LDAP administration (e.g. creating and managing users and groups)

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Bash scripting
• Hardware maintenance (e.g. troubleshooting, FRU replacement)
• Experience with out-of-band management (e.g. iDRAC, terminal server concentrators)
• Dell and Cisco hardware
• Experience with NTP (Network Time Protocol)
• Experience with Smart PDU (Power Distribution Units)
• Experience with NFS administration
• Experience with DNS administration
• Experience with networking administration: LAN and firewalls (Cisco preferred)
• General experience with Nagios, Microsoft Windows operating system and SAN and NAS administration

Benefit selection, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.

Full benefits: $131,000 to $164,000 annually

Reduced benefits (no medical, dental, vision): Up to $177,000 annually
