Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Commercial Estimator is to provide commercial support and estimates for commercial projects quoted by the department.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Review plans and specifications to determine product to be estimated Translate plans and specifications into a specific list of equipment/products needed for job by selecting appropriate equipment for applicationPrepare and complete accurate and timely engineering submittals for projectsEstimate pricing for needed products and send quotes to customers Obtain external vendor pricing, special quotations from Carrier and Engineered to Order (ETO) pricing as required for products while maintaining competitive pricing levels and to maximize gross margins. Coordinate prior approval requests with engineering services departmentPartner with Account Executives and Territory Managers on projects/jobs to maintain customer satisfaction to ensure repeat businessSeek out training opportunities to expand product knowledge and understand processes to enhance the customer's experienceAfter submittal is approved, handle write-up to be turned into an Order Entry AdministratorFacilitate sales and pre-bid meetings to determine sales strategy for projects estimatedAnswer calls and provide customers with a high level of customer serviceWhen dictated by a bid schedule and other deadlines, tasks might have to be completed during or in addition to hours other than normal working hours.Maintain regular and punctual attendanceWork cooperatively with othersComply with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field of study, preferred Commercial HVAC experience, a plus 2 years Customer Service experience preferredProficient computer skills in MS Office and AdobeExcellent written and verbal communication skills 

Travel Requirement:

0% travel to branches and other operating companies requiring some overnight stay, travel to industry related conferences and training requiring some extended stay
