We have a FULL-TIME position available between two offices and are looking for wonderful people to join our family. Responsibilities

  • Assist orthodontists during patient procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and care.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when necessary, adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines.
  • Provide patient education on orthodontic care, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment instructions using clear dental terminology.
  • Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures.
  • Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation to ensure patient safety during visits.
  • Support the dental receptionist in administrative tasks such as answering phones, confirming appointments, and managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with the team using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and comfort for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry cases.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in dental technology like 3D scanners and stay informed about procedures across specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as Orthodontic Assistant within a busy dental clinic environment 3-4 years minimum Orthodontic Assisting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
  • Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and accurately.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical coding standards.
  • Excellent chairside assisting skills with a focus on four-handed dentistry to enhance workflow speed and patient comfort.
  • Basic understanding of pediatric dentistry principles when working with young patients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
  • Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred.
