Robotic End‑Effector Assembly Technician

Join Star Automation as a hands-on builder of robotic end-of-arm tooling (EOAT). Reporting to the Sales Engineering Manager, you'll turn printed drawings, sketches, 3D PDFs, and E‑drawings into production-ready assemblies that meet customer specs.

A day in the life

Start by pulling product kits and organizing machined and purchased parts for the day's builds. Assemble mechanicals, tube pneumatics, and wire DC circuits using basic hand tools. Fit and modify components as needed—documenting any changes along the way. Install cable ties, terminal strips, and manifolds where specified. Tune and adjust tooling to match the customer's sample parts. Photograph final assemblies and complete test sheets for records. Tackle special projects and pitch in with additional duties as requested.

What you'll bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of manufacturing/mechanical experience.
• Comfort with hand tools: wrenches, screwdrivers, drill, tap.
• Electronics basics: series/parallel DC circuit construction, soldering, and point‑to‑point wiring.
• Computer skills: Windows, Word, and Excel; ability to work in a cross‑functional team.

Communication and problem‑solving

• Read and interpret technical specifications, professional journals, engineering charts, and blueprints.
• Write reports and documentation.
• Interact effectively with customers, vendors, sales, fabricators, and colleagues.
• Solve practical problems with limited standardization; interpret written, verbal, and diagrammatic instructions and integrate input from customers and sales teams.

Tools, physical demands, and environment

Operate standard office equipment (computer, telephone, fax, copier) along with common shop tools. Expect extended periods standing at a workbench and repetitive use of hand tools; occasional walking and reaching overhead; ability to lift and/or move up to 60 lbs; and vision sufficient for close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, plus focus adjustment. Work may occasionally involve fumes/airborne particles, proximity to moving mechanical parts, and exposure to electrical risk. Noise levels can be loud at times.

Schedule and pay

• Job Type: Full-time / 1st Shift, 8:00am to 4:30 pm
• Schedule: Monday to Friday; Overtime available
• Pay: Starting at $ $27.00 per hour (based on experience/qualifications)
• Work Location: SAI office location - N90W14401 Commerce Drive; Menomonee Falls, WI
