Overview:

The Outreach Worker will play a critical role in supporting the YES (Youth Empowerment and Safety) program by engaging with youth within the school setting, intervening in conflicts, and providing essential support to help prevent violence and promote positive behavior change. The Outreach Worker will be responsible for building relationships with students, identifying at-risk individuals, and providing conflict mediation and crisis intervention services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for program implementation and facilitation of in-school structured

sessions throughout the service year

  • Engage with identified high-risk youth by providing outreach and support in both school

and community settings

  • Maintain a connection with youth to address issues before they escalate
  • Responsible for Safe Passage

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Lived experiences
  • Experience working with youth in a school or community setting, particularly in conflict resolution or violence prevention.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with students, staff, and community members.
  • Knowledge of restorative justice practices, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including afternoons and after-school hours.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and maintain confidentiality.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
