Description
Job Purpose:
- The Early Childhood Assistant Center Director at Clayton Child Care Inc is responsible for supporting the Center Director in overseeing the daily operations of the childcare center. This role ensures a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children, while also managing staff, maintaining compliance with state regulations, and fostering positive relationships with families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Center Director in the daily management and administration of the childcare center.
- Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations regarding childcare and safety standards.
- Support the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of children.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff performance, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for children, staff, and families, promoting open communication and collaboration.
- Assist in managing the center's budget, resources, and supplies efficiently.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns from parents, staff, or regulatory bodies in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in community outreach and marketing efforts to promote the center and its programs.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all regulations.
- Step into the role of Center Director in their absence, ensuring continuity of leadership and operations.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a childcare setting.
- Proven track record of managing educational programs and staff effectively.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
- Proficient in managing administrative tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, and compliance with state regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with parents, staff, and children.
- Ability to develop and implement educational programs that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Competency in using technology and software relevant to childcare management.
- Demonstrated ability to handle emergencies and make sound decisions under pressure.
