Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Book Publicist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive publicity campaigns for a diverse range of authors and titles. You will leverage your expertise (and rolodex) in media relations, marketing, and public relations to enhance the visibility of the book authors' works. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and writing skills and a wide network of media contacts.

Duties

  • Develop and implement strategic publicity plans tailored to individual authors and their books.
  • Write compelling press releases, media pitches, and promotional materials.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media contacts, including journalists, bloggers, and influencers.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential media opportunities and trends relevant to our clients' works.
  • Oversee authors' social media campaigns to engage audiences and promote book launches effectively.
  • Coordinate public speaking engagements, author events, and book signings to maximize exposure.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms.
  • Edit and proofread promotional content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Monitor media coverage and analyze the effectiveness of publicity efforts.

Requirements

  • Prior public relations experience in the book industry.
  • Good with people.
  • Media contacts (to bookers, producers, journalists)
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A passion for books and literature.

Job Type: Full-time

Projected Total Compensation: $ $125,000.00 per year
