Job Summary
well established Restaurant/Deli in Agoura Hills with two other Restaurants in LA is looking for a star Chef/sous Chef For day shifts to grow with us , We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef or Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Chef/Sous Chef will play a vital role in menu planning, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining efficient kitchen workflows to support both fine dining and catering services.
Duties
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training, mentoring, and managing shift operations
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to food safety regulations
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste
- Plan menus in collaboration with management, considering dietary restrictions and customer preferences
- Coordinate catering events and special functions, ensuring timely service and exceptional quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment in compliance with health codes
- Monitor food handling practices to ensure safety standards are met or exceeded
- Lead efforts in food service management, including shift management and customer satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience in fine dining, banquet service, or catering environments with strong culinary skills
- Supervising experience with team management capabilities
- Extensive knowledge of food safety protocols and dietary department standards
- Expertise in food preparation, kitchen management, inventory control, and food production processes
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent menu planning skills with attention to detail in presentation and flavor balance
- Experience in restaurant or hospitality management is highly desirable
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently under pressure during shift management
- Knowledge of food industry trends, culinary techniques, and catering operations
- Exceptional communication skills with a focus on teamwork and customer service excellence
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50, $75,000.00 per year
