Howmet Aerospace is currently looking for a
Final Verifier
to join our Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) group in Hampton, Virginia. The shift hours will be determined
after training completion
. Training is
1st shift, M-F 6am-2pm
or
2nd shift, M-F 2pm-10pm
.

New Hire Starting Rate:
$20.82 p/hr.
; After 6 months:
$23.13 p/hr.
This position will receive an hourly "shift premium" of
$1.00 p/hr.
while assigned to an off shift.

Job Summary
: The
Final Verifier
will visually inspect metal castings for dimensional accuracy and surface defects to meet customer's specifications.

Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities
:

  • Read and follow work instructions
  • Record data either manually or by computer as required
  • Fully inspect castings for imperfections
  • Check cores and passages for plus metal or other foreign material that could restrict gas flow using hand gauges
  • Identify some castings with the electric etching tool or the engraving vibro-peen tool
  • Maintain packing and boxing supplies

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

  • An application must include a resume and two professional references for review and consideration.
  • This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Applicants must have at least two years of continuous related manufacturing experience or training. Recent high school or college graduates without prior work experience must provide a letter of recommendation.
  • Availability for all shifts (including 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekend shift) is necessary. The ability to work overtime and weekends is required as schedules may vary based on operational needs; flexibility is essential.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
