A Day in the Life

As a Engineering Maintenance Supervisor in our Billerica, MA facility, you'll lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for the construction and maintenance of equipment used to manufacture life changing products in our growing cardiac ablation portfolio.

You will play a critical role in daily operations—driving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity while fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement. Your leadership directly contributes to the devices and systems that help clinicians improve patient outcomes worldwide.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Promote an inclusive and safe workplace by modeling Medtronic's values and reinforcing positive team behaviors.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of equipment maintenance technicians within a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and compliance requirements are met through strong daily floor presence and communication.
  • Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis for equipment, process, and quality issues; implement robust corrective actions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, and Operations to optimize production performance and support new product introductions.
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools to streamline workflow and eliminate waste.
  • Drive team engagement through recognition, feedback, training, and opportunities for career growth.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, metrics, and reporting aligned with internal and external audit requirements (FDA, ISO, etc.).

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of technical supervisory experience, or an Associate degree with 4+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, operations, or technical production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in medical device, aerospace, or other regulated industry.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading equipment maintenance teams.

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Workday, SAP, etc.) and production scheduling tools.
  • Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Tools including SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Familiarity with FDA Quality System Regulation, 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971
  • Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing documentation systems.
  • Ability to build trust and engagement across diverse teams.
  • Proven track record of developing team members and fostering inclusive leadership practices.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$73, $110,400.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
