KIPP SoCal Public Schools is a nonprofit organization that operates 20 tuition-free, open-enrollment charter public schools, within 17 Local Education Agencies (LEA), educating more than 10,000 students and supporting 8,300 alumni to and through college and beyond. You Should Apply If

You love teaching theater and drama to middle school students. We have an opening at our middle school in Compton, which launched their theater program last year. Keep our momentum going by joining this awesome team. For the upcoming school year, the theater teacher will work with grades 5th-7th.

Priority deadline: July 25, 2025. Role is signing bonus eligible for credentialed teachers.
What You'll Do

• Teach the knowledge and skills, nurture the confidence and character, and inspire the passion needed for our students to achieve their goals, live their best lives, and positively impact the world
• Value and draw upon students' experiences and backgrounds
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies based on the diverse needs of all the students that engage all students
• Develop and administer a variety of assessments to measure students' growth towards goals and to monitor students mastery of the content standards
• Analyze informal and formal student assessment results and use this information to drive and inform instruction
• Communicate and collaborate professionally with teammates, parents, and community members
• Implement classroom management techniques to create a nurturing and structured classroom environment and structure
• Maintain high expectations for students academic achievement and conduct
• Other duties as assigned by school administration

You'll Be Qualified If You Have

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
• Valid preliminary or CLEAR teaching credential appropriate to role (Strong preference but not required)
• Multiple years teaching experience in communities similar to the ones KIPP SoCal serves is strongly preferred
• Theater teaching in a public school setting is strongly preferred
