Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Auto Body Prepper/Body Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for repair, ensuring all surfaces are properly cleaned, sanded, and primed to achieve a flawless finish. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality auto body repairs that meet industry standards and customer expectations. Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to ensure optimal conditions for repair and painting processes
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and airless paint sprayers to apply primers, fillers, and other materials accurately
  • Perform minor auto body repairs such as dent removal, rust repair, and surface smoothing with precision
  • Assist in auto painting tasks including buffing, polishing, and detailing to achieve a high-gloss finish
  • Handle auto glass replacement and installation as needed during the repair process
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
  • Collaborate with technicians and estimators to ensure repairs meet quality standards and customer specifications

Skills

  • Proven dealership experience or background in auto body repair is highly preferred
  • Strong welding skills for metalwork repairs and modifications
  • Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance procedures
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized auto body equipment
  • Experience with auto painting techniques such as airless spray painting and buffing
  • Knowledge of auto glass installation and detailing processes
  • Ability to lift heavy parts safely and perform physically demanding tasks efficiently
  • Familiarity with auto estimating software and customer service principles is a plus
  • Auto restoration experience or mechanic background enhances versatility in this role
