Summary:

The IBHS Director oversees the Integrated Behavioral Health System (IBHS) program for North Carolina Reserve Component Service members and their families. This role ensures effective crisis intervention, resource coordination, program evaluation, and comprehensive behavioral health services in collaboration with military and civilian entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee IBHS operations, clinical services, and behavioral health programming.
  • Ensure crisis intervention protocols are optimized for effectiveness.
  • Validate proper scheduling and coverage of IBHS personnel for hotline support, day-to-day operations, and deployment-related tasks.
  • Confirm the maintenance of case management records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Ensure written consent for outreach efforts is properly obtained and documented.
  • Implement a holistic approach to behavioral health care coordination across NCNG.
  • Submit IBHS program usage and satisfaction metric reports to the COR.
  • Compile and forward case management data reports annually.
  • Assess behavioral health trends and program efficiencies, recommending strategic improvements for government consideration.
  • Coordinate IBHS event coverage requests with Lead Psychotherapist and IBHS Coordinator.
  • Facilitate joint behavioral health events with NCARNG/NCANG Behavioral Health Offices (BHOP).
  • Serve as an IBHS subject matter expert at external NCNG meetings, including Governor's Working Group, North Carolina Institute of Medicine, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) workgroups, Duke University Cognitive Behavioral Research studies, UNC Chapel Hill Department of Psychiatry military/veteran research initiatives, VA(MC) Mental Health Summits, RTI International, and Center for Applied Public Health Research.
  • Represent IBHS expertise at NCNG Battle Rhythm events such as Case Management Group, Commander's Ready and Resilience Council, and Stand-Up Workgroups.
  • Attend G1 and G1-SSS Meetings to review IBHS program feedback and enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work or counseling
  • 10 years of full-time post-licensure behavior health experience; 5 years within a military or public safety setting preferred.
  • Supervisory or program development/implementation experience of a program directly related to a behavioral health services or mental health program.
  • Experience planning, directing, or organizing a program across multiple sites.
